Every film I watched in 2024 reviewed in 1 sentence
1. Inside Out 2
This movie pissed me off for its under-utilization of AYO EDIBIRI.
2. Longlegs
The best part of this movie is at the very beginning, but it was so effective I was disturbed and afraid for the entire run time.
3. Matilda
I really should be rewatching this every year, a perfect, nostalgic romp!
4. Pokémon Detective Pikachu
Justice Smith is a cutie-patootie and my favorite Pokémon, Aipom, is here so it’s a great time. (Could do without the Ryan Reynolds jump scare at the end though)
5. Blue Velvet
Wow!! I loved this so much, Kyle McLachlan is amazing in it and the framing of the shots, the amount of anxiety that they gave me will be hard to forget.
6. Twister
This film is like a movie.
7. Challengers
Luca Guadanino’s fujoshi manifesto.
8. Love Lies Bleeding
This film was incredible, I think Kirsten Stewart is one of my favorite actors currently working, her performance in this was so great and I loved the avant-garde nature of some of the shots and where the plot ends up going.
9. The Great Wall
Pedro Pascal I am in your walls.
10. The Killing of a Sacred Deer
This is hands down the scariest film I saw this year, I have never felt more disturbed than I did at the climax of this film.
11. Trap
I was so happy when he took his shirt off.
12. Interstellar
It was very good, I think the way people talk about this film is incredibly annoying.
13. Cuckoo
YES!!!!!!!! Bring back original and freaky monster concepts.
14. Night Swim
I had fun.
15. Princess Mononoke
I mean what else can be said about this other than it is a masterpiece.
16. Signs
Beautiful Joaquin Phoenix and his beautiful blue eyes.
17. Milk & Serial
This ended up being so spooky, even if I felt a little underwhelmed by the narrative.
18. Night is Short, Walk on Girl
I loved the visual ride this experimental anime film took me on, it could feel a little disconnected or staggered in some parts but I loved each distinct part a lot.
19. Austenland
I love romantic comedies.
20. The Grudge
I really did not like this, I almost didn’t finish it.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!! So beautiful and so well acted and so immersive.
22. Army of Darkness
I wish I was high when I watched this, but it was absolutely so much fun.
23. The Dark Crystal
Sooooooo glad that I finally watched this! I’d been meaning to for literally years and years, and I really do feel like it changed a part of my brain, the worldbuilding and textures of this world are so singular and enthralling, I think about it so often.
24. Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
My film of the year, and I haven’t even seen any other Mad Max film. This film is an epic in all definitions of the form, Anya Taylor Joy is perfect in it, the sets and worldbuilding are transformative and so well realized… I’m obsessed.
25. Bridget Jones’s Diary
This was cute, but I expected more from all the hype surrounding these films.
26. Sleepaway Camp
I somehow watched this without knowing about the transphobic ending, I was PLUCKED.
27. I Used to Be Funny
I don’t really remember this much to be honest, but I remember thinking Rachel Sennot was good in it?
28. The First Slam Dunk:
I loved this movie!!! I’ve been trying to watch more anime films, and this one caught my eye just based on the art style. It’s a really beautifully animated movie, but the narrative really delivered for me also, even not having watched the original anime or read the manga.
29. Beetlejuice
It was good but I feel like a lot of your nostalgia adds like at least one star to your ratings.
30. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
There was just TOO MUCH MOVIE happening here.

What a wild psychosexual thriller, I loved!
32. Wish
I can’t believe I wasted my time with this, or that Disney did, on their 100th anniversary of all times.
33. I Saw the TV Glow
I watched this twice and I still don’t think I can fully articulate how it makes me feel. I feel I am walking this life alongside its main character and that terrifies me.
34. Acuitzeramo
Overly sentimental but still kind of sweet, really beautifully captures Mexico, I thought.

Listen… I kinda hated it but I think it would grow on me if I watched it again.

I liked this but it is so extremely heterosexual it made me uncomfortable at times.
39. Saturday Night
This was so fun I just wish I knew more about the original cast of SNL before I went into it.
40. Caddo Lake
Dylan O’Brien is so good in this, but I found the twist a little hard to keep track of!
41. The Infernal Cauldron
I watched a bunch of really old silent films one night while high, this was so fun.
42. A Trip to the Moon
I’d seen this with friends at a museum once, it’s so cool to see how science fiction was portrayed in 1902.
43. A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2: Freddy’s Revenge
I think more twinks should be the main character of horror films.
44. A Nightmare on Elm Stret Part 3: Dream Warriors
This was so cool, bringing the original final girl back to train this new cadre of teens fighting against Freddy is such a cool concept.

I hated watching this but genuinely I think it was amazing, so fucking disturbing though never again.
